What is a Full Plans Application?
Full Plans consist of detailed drawings and other particulars of the proposed building work, drawn to scale. In the case of the erection of a new building, Full Plans would be complete plans of the whole building, the site, structural calculations etc. In the case of work to an existing building, Full Plans would be those plans relevant to the proposed work. Where you deposit Full Plans, you will be obliged to complete and attach a Full Plan submission form with the plans showing that the notice is submitted in accordance with Building Regulation 12(2)(b).
Points to note:
- When making a Full Plans application you should enclose the appropriate charge together with two copies of the drawings and if appropriate, structural calculations, giving full details of your proposals. Application forms.
- Charges are set locally within a framework set by the Government. Please contact individual London Boroughs by clicking on the Boroughs area of this site.
- The statutory limit for dealing with your Full Plans application is five weeks although a decision may be made within a shorter time. The time limit can be extended to two months with your agreement.
- Rejection of your application is NOT a refusal of the scheme as a whole and will generally only occur if it shows major contraventions of the Building Regulations, or if there is insufficient information. Wherever possible approval, if necessary with conditions where we need additional information or if minor changes are needed, will be granted. If you or your agent disagree with our decision you have the right to appeal to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, under this application route.
