President's Reception 1998
More than 160 people allied to the Building Engineering profession met at the Guildhall, London, on a sunny Tuesday lunchtime at the end of February 1998, to be the guests of Rodney Wilson, the new President of the London District Surveyor's Association, at his inaugural reception in the crypt.
The new President explained that this event was the opportunity for the LDSA to express its thanks to all colleagues and friends, in all parts of industry, for their help and support over the previous year, and, as is said of these occasions, "to renew old, and make new acquaintances".
Rodney also put in a "plug" for the Association's role in Building Control, which is now marketing a customer orientated, seamless regulatory service, emphasising quality.
The guests included many ABE members, as well as representatives of central and local government, the institutions, financial and legal professions, and the construction industry, not only from the UK but Europe.
